Panel Discussion

 



A diverse panel of public and private company compensation executives and board members will discuss:
  • Trends and changes driven by the current economy
  • New TARP regulations and SEC reporting requirements
  • Issues affecting design, approval and reporting of executive compensation

Each panel member will respond to a set of questions moderated by Stacie Hagan, Chief People Officer, EarthLink, and then the floor will be opened to questions from the audience.  Panel members will offer perspectives and insights applicable to both public and private companies and share their views and priorities based on their respective positions.

Susan D. Bowick, Compensation Committee Chair and Board Member EarthLink, Inc. and Comverse Technology

Ms. Bowick is a member of the Board of Directors of Earthlink, Inc., and Comverse Technology, Inc. She currently serves as the chairperson of the Compensation Committees for both companies. Ms. Bowick has served as a consultant to several global technology companies, including SAP, Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks. From 1977 to 2004, Ms. Bowick served in various executive positions with Hewlett-Packard Company, most recently as Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Workforce Development.

Rebecca Lynn-Crockford, Director of Compensation, SunTrust

Rebecca Lynn-Crockford is Senior Vice President and Director of Compensation for SunTrust Banks, Inc. Rebecca has complete responsibility for all issues related to compensation for the 29,000 employees of SunTrust with a special emphasis on executive compensation. Prior to joining SunTrust, Rebecca held leadership positions in Compensation and Benefits at The Coca-Cola Company, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Scientific-Atlanta, Tenneco and Georgia-Pacific Corporation. She had a long career at Georgia-Pacific where she was not only Vice President-Compensation and Benefits, but also the Director of Internal Audit and Controller of the Headquarters Division.

Kelly H. Gay, Current Board of Directors member for Bank of Atlanta, 1105 Media, ReachForce, Ashworth College, the Board of Directors Network, and the Georgia Department of Driver Services, and Past Chairman, CEO and President, KnowledgeStorm

Kelly Gay is the past Chairman, CEO and President of KnowledgeStorm (recently acquired by TechTarget). Beginning in February 2000, Kelly led KnowledgeStorm from start-up to annual sales of $20 million in less than seven years, and from a significant operating loss to profitability; resulting in the company receiving numerous prestigious awards. Prior to KnowledgeStorm, Kelly led IBM's North American Media and Entertainment division; growing the business unit to $1.2 billion in sales over a three-year period. Kelly currently serves on the boards of directors of the Bank of Atlanta, 1105 Media, ReachForce, Ashworth College, the Board of Directors Network, and the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS).

J.P. Matzigkeit, Vice President of Compensation, Benefits & HRIS at Cox Enterprises, Inc.

J.P. Matzigkeit is vice president of compensation, benefits and HRIS at Cox Enterprises, Inc. Matzigkeit assumed this role at the beginning of 2009 and is responsible for Cox's compensation, benefits and HRIS departments. Matzigkeit has nearly twenty years of experience in compensation. In 1999 he joined Cox as a director of compensation and most recently served as assistant vice president of compensation. He was responsible for the design, implementation and administration of compensation systems and long-term incentive plans for Cox Enterprises' officers and employees. Prior to joining Cox, he was an executive compensation consultant for Towers Perrin.

  • Members: There is no cost for members to attend the HRLF breakfast programs.  If you need to cancel your reservation, we ask that you do so at least 3 days in advance.
  • Guests: This event is open only to HRLF members and guests of the HRLF membership committee.  If you are an HRLF member and you would like to bring a guest, please include your guest's name, title, company and email address in your registration request.  The membership committee is responsible for reviewing guest attendees for each meeting.  Please allow 3 business days for a response to your request.  Guests who are approved and do not meet the membership criteria of HRLF will be charged $50 to attend the breakfast programs.  For additional information, please see the guest policy.
